PerfectLum is a comprehensive solution which is both a medical display calibration software ensuring the compliance of any computer monitor and projector with DICOM Part 14 GSDF and other international standards, and a monitor quality assurance (QA) tool with the remote display management system for quality control operations on a medical imaging display.

Automatic display adjustment
PerfectLum DICOM calibration tool automatically adjusts display settings over the DDC/CI channel, so that you don’t have to go into the display’s OSD menu. The display is automatically adjusted to a desired white level and optimum color temperature to ensure fast and easy DICOM calibration, as well as high quality results.
Extremely precise dicom calibration
Color calibration is performed not only on white but on all gray levels. This ensures that the observer sees the gray levels correctly, as the aspect of an image is influenced by colors in the grays, not just luminance.
An ICC profile is generated during calibration to save color characteristics for the given device.
PerfectLum DICOM calibration software adjusts the display to international standards including NEMA DICOM part 14 GSDF. PerfectLum Suite not only calibrates a display, but also performs acceptance and constancy tests to verify that the display conforms to such regulations as AAPM TG18, DIN 6868-57, DIN 6868-157 Norm Entwurf, JESRA X-0093, and IEC 62563-1.
Rather than saving the DICOM calibration LUT (Look Up Table) on your computer’s graphics card, the software saves it inside any display with hardware calibration support. This increases color precision and lets you use the display with different machines without losing the calibration.
In the course of time, monitors tend to grow non-uniform in luminance, which influences the accuracy of image reproduction. This problem is especially urgent for medical displays. A display with a non-uniformity of more than 15% can no longer be used in Germany as it would not meet the German DIN 6868-57standard.
PerfectLum DICOM calibration application can cope with non-uniformity and make even an older display fit for medical imaging. For example, if your display is 30% off in luminance from the center, PerfectLum can correct that down to 3%. Calibrate with PerfectLum and simply continue using the display.
History database and reports
PerfectLum provides proof of maintenance for all your diagnostics displays. After calibrating or viewing the previous calibrations and verifications in history, simply export the report as a pdf document, print it, and file. Automatic backup is performed for history database to ensure not a letter is lost.
PerfectLum is compatible with any color and grayscale display of minimum 17" and a minimum resolution of 1208 x 1024 pixels. For Automatic Display Adjustment the DDC/CI communication channel is used. A DDC/CI compatible display is needed for this feature. PerfectLum Suite is compatible with any graphics card that holds an LUT (Look Up Table). This is true for nearly all graphic boards produced today.
Perfectlum remote management
With PerfectLum Remote Management, a system administrator can perform calibration, verification, and quality assurance tests for all displays in multiple hospitals and radiology practices from a single location. The system administrator can schedule calibration and quality assurance tasks for client machines, and a notifier on the client machine will remind the user to perform the task when it is due. An automatic alert system notifies the administrator via e-mail whenever a calibration or a QA test on one of the client machines has failed. There is no need to bother installing and protecting your own server for the Remote display management system: it is a full set of maintenance and support services, provided with safety in mind.
Data security in perfectlum remote
PerfectLum Remote display management tool functions in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The system assures security of Personal Health Information (PHI), as it does not access, store, or transfer any of it. PerfectLum Remote Management utilizes a relay server to ensure additional data security, as recommended by NEMA Security and Privacy Requirements for Remote Servicing. The relay server functions as an intermediary between client applications and the central web server, protecting the transferred data with 2-layers asymmetric encryption.
